Note: This content is relevant only to P2P In-Person Event campaign types.
Event campaigns on Pledge It support the concept of multi-participant registration, meaning one person can go through the registration process and sign up themselves and other participants as part of the same order.
When a participant registers additional participants on a campaign where fundraising is enabled or required, they can generate a fundraising page(s) for whoever they are registering. After checkout, the additional participant(s) they registered to fundraise will receive an email confirming they have been signed up and inviting them to claim their fundraising page. Following the link in that email will activate their Pledge It account and allow them to access and customize their fundraising page, using all its features.
Below is an example of what that email looks like:
Note: Participants registered for tickets with a fundraising commitment enabled receive a similar email, which notifies them of the commitment amount and includes a prompt to "Complete their registration" as they have to agree to a waiver and enter a credit card.
Note: Even if a participant does not claim their page, a fundraising page will automatically be generated on the campaign for them and be able to accept donations. If they were assigned a team during registration, their name and fundraising profile will be displayed on that team. However, the participant won’t be able to login, view the Team Dashboard, customize their page, or use their page’s fundraising tools unless they claim their page via the link they received in their email.
Resend invite email
If a participant who was signed up by someone else is having issues logging into their fundraising page or completing their registration, you can resend the invite email they received. It will contain the unique link they should use to claim their page or complete their registration.
Visit your campaign’s Dashboard.
Go to the Recruit tab and search the Participants table for the fundraising participant that needs their invite email resent.
Click on their name to open their participant record and then select the three dot menu under their name.
Select Resend Invite Email. (If you do not see this option or if it says Resend Welcome Email instead, then the fundraiser has already claimed their fundraising page.)
A pop-up will appear confirming your intention. Click Send.
Note: Anytime you resend an email to a participant, you have the option to send a copy to yourself. If you choose to do this when resending an invite email, do not follow the link in the email, as this will attempt to tie their fundraising page to your profile.
Frequently Asked Questions
How can I tell if a participant has claimed their fundraising page or not?
To confirm if a fundraising page has already been claimed, pull up their participant profile and look at their profile details on the right side of the screen. Under Profile, you’ll see two categories: Fundraising Page and Account. If an account created date is listed, their fundraising profile has already been claimed and linked to their account. If the Account section lists “None,” then their fundraising profile is unclaimed.
Will participants that don't claim their page still receive campaign communications from the Message Center or notifications about donations to their page?
Yes! These participants are considered registered participants and will receive all campaign communications. If the fundraising page that was generated for them receives donations, they will receive notifications just like any other fundraiser. If they follow the link in their notification email to thank their donors, they will be prompted to claim their page.
A participant was registered, but the person signing them up made a typo in their email, so they never received their invite. Can I update their email address so they can access their page?
Yes. If the wrong or incorrect email was provided when signing them up, you can edit their participant profile to change the email address on file before resending the invite email. Pull up their participant profile and click Edit in the top right corner of the page. If their page is unclaimed, the first section that appears will be a Contact Info section, where you can edit their email address. Click Save, then proceed with resending their invite email.
