Customize the email sent to fundraisers after they join your campaign

Updated over a week ago

If you are organizing a campaign with a peer-to-peer component, your fundraisers will receive an automated email upon registration that welcomes them to the campaign, shares a link to their personal fundraising page, and includes a prompt for them to begin inviting donors.

You can customize the message included in the Fundraising Welcome Email to share more information about your campaign, suggested next steps to get them started, fundraising resources, and more.

Steps

  1. Visit your campaign’s Dashboard.

  2. Select Settings from the left side menu, then select Email.

  3. Click on Edit below Fundraiser Welcome Email. You will see a preview display of the email display in the right pane. In the left pane, you can use the text editor to customize your preferred message.

  4. Click Save when finished editing.

Note: The Fundraising Welcome Email will also include the event date you’ve set and the time you have indicated, if you chose to provide the time. Be aware that changing the date/time of your event after registrations have begun may mean that some people have outdated information in their welcome email.

Note: If your campaign has fundraising commitments enabled, participants with a fundraising commitment will see a summary of their commitment level and the commitment deadline.

Frequently Asked Questions

When do participants receive the Fundraiser Welcome Email?

Fundraisers receive this email immediately after they complete their registration. If they were signed up by someone else on a P2P In-Person Event campaign, they will first receive an invite email letting them know they were registered and prompting them to claim their fundraising page. Those participants will receive this email after claiming their fundraising page.

Can I resend this email to a fundraiser if they can’t find it?

Best Practices

  • The Fundraiser Welcome Email is the first email your fundraisers will receive when joining your campaign. It should set an encouraging tone for your event while being clear and action-oriented to motivate fundraisers to begin sharing their page. If you have resources you want fundraisers to utilize, like a fundraising toolkit, this is an excellent place to link resources for easy reference. Use the Insert > Button feature in the text editor to easily link to resources.

  • Avoid overwhelming your fundraisers with too much content in your Fundraiser Welcome Email. Keep what you share short, sweet, and motivating. Using itemized or bulleted lists to share resources can make it easier for scanning instead of long paragraphs that they may skip reading.
