Customize milestones

Customize a milestone to celebrate participants when they reach a goal

Updated over a week ago

Milestones can be customized when using the Achievements feature on P2P-enabled campaigns. The Milestones feature gives you the ability to define moments where you want to celebrate and encourage your participants along their fundraising journey.

For each milestone created, you can customize a message of motivation that the fundraiser would receive upon reaching the milestone. Milestone messages are sent via email to the fundraiser and their milestone progress is tracked under Achievements menu of their fundraising page.

Tip: If your campaign is also offering incentives for individual fundraisers, milestones can be paired with incentives. Using both together allows fundraisers to be notified when they qualify for incentives and activates tools for your organization to manage incentive fulfillment. Learn how to create incentives.

Steps

  1. Visit your campaign's Dashboard.

  2. Select Achievements on the left side menu.

  3. Under the Milestones tab, you will see categories for milestones that can be enabled on your campaign and the default milestones already enabled. See below for how the milestone categories are defined.

  4. Click Create Milestone in the milestone category of your choice, or use the Edit icon to edit a default milestone.

  5. In the pop-up that appears, you can customize the image that will appear in the milestone email, the milestone metric, and message that will be included in the email.

  6. Click Save when complete, then repeat for additional milestones as desired.

Note: Customizing the milestone message is optional, but can be a great way to remind participants of the impact they are having on your organization's mission.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a limit to how many milestones I create? Can I create milestones in multiple categories?

There is no set limit to how many milestones you create or how many categories you create milestones in, but we recommend thinking through your communication strategy to identify meaningful moments where you want to use milestones to encourage or celebrate fundraiser success. The goal is to motivate and encourage fundraisers with these touchpoints, not to overwhelm them.

Can I turn off milestones mid-fundraiser?

Yes, you can turn off milestone emails mid-fundraiser to prevent additional milestone emails from being sent out. This will not affect milestone emails that have already been sent out to fundraisers who already reached a milestone. Visit the Achievements section of your dashboard and simply toggle off the milestone you want to disable.

How are milestones and incentives tracked?

Milestones and incentives are tracked based on individual fundraiser performance relative to category the milestone was created in. At this time, milestones and incentives do not apply to team performance.

How do milestones interact with minimum fundraising commitments?

These features do not interact. Progress towards a fundraiser's minimum fundraising commitment is independent of their progress towards any milestones.
