Note: These instructions may vary depending on your campaign type. Confirm your campaign type by visiting your Organization Dashboard, selecting Campaigns, and finding your campaign. A label will appear below your campaign's name indicating its campaign type.
How the event date works
Certain campaign types on Pledge It support entering an event date. This date will display on the campaign page, be included in the Order Receipt and/or Fundraiser Welcome Email, and (for activity-based campaigns) will influence when reminders are sent to participants about logging their performance.
The event date is not the date that your campaign is considered “live” for donations or registrations, but rather the date your event is actually happening. Some campaign types, like standard Peer-to-Peer campaigns, Crowdfunding campaigns, and Donation Forms have no option to include an event date, but you can customize the content around your campaign’s timeline as needed.
Note: Be aware that changing your event date will change the date in certain places where it’s inclusion is automated, but you will still need to review any custom content you have added that may reference a different date. If you are changing your event date after participants have already signed up, be aware their registration emails may now include outdated information.
Edit event date on In-Person Event or P2P In-Person Event campaigns:
Visit your campaign's Dashboard.
Select Settings on the sidebar menu.
Under the Event tab, you will find the date options.
Adjust the start date and end date as needed. If your event is happening on a single day, both dates should be the same.
Click Save.
You will also see an option to include the event time, which is optional to include. This is an open-field text box where you can write in specific time details if desired. Whatever you enter here will be displayed in the Order Receipt and/or Fundraiser Welcome Email (if applicable) that participants receive.
Edit event date on Virtual Challenge campaigns:
Because Virtual Challenges are often longer campaigns happening over weeks or months, you will not see an Event tab when exploring your Settings menu. Instead, your campaign’s event date is determined by your Activity Tracking Dates.
Visit your campaign's Dashboard.
Select Settings on the sidebar menu.
Select Activity Tracking on the Settings menu.
In the Tracking Dates box, click Edit.
In the fields that appear, adjust the start date and end date.
Click Save.
Note: It is best to finalize these dates before participants join your Virtual Challenge campaign. Once the start date has passed and fundraisers have joined, the start date cannot be altered.
Frequently Asked Questions
I need to change the event date on a campaign style not listed here.
Standard Peer-to-Peer, Crowdfunding, and Donation Form campaign types do not have an event date field, but you can visit your campaign page settings to include custom content that communications the timeframe of your fundraising initiative in your header, campaign story, or by adding additional content blocks.
I enabled an auction on my campaign. Does changing the event date on my campaign affect the auction?
No. Every auction has its own start and end time that determines the bidding window for the auction, which is independent of the event date on your campaign. Find your auction’s start and end date by visiting your campaign’s Dashboard > Settings > Auction.
