Waive fundraising commitment

Waive a participant's minimum fundraising commitment on your peer-to-peer campaign

Updated over a week ago

If a ticket or tickets to your event include a minimum fundraising commitment, you are able to waive all or a portion of the commitment for particular participants as needed. Commitments can be waived at your discretion.

Steps

  1. Visit your campaign’s Dashboard.

  2. Under the Raise tab, scroll down to your Donations table and select the Commitments tab.

  3. A table showing all your fundraisers who have registered with a fundraising commitment will appear. Search for the participant whose commitment you would like to waive and click on their name.

  4. A pop-up will appear summarizing their commitment. Under the Remaining section, you will see how much they have left to raise to complete their commitment. Select the Waive button to waive the remainder.

  5. The pop-up will immediately update to show the commitment status as Waived. If you need to provide any notes about why the commitment was waived, click on Add Note in the Notes section to enter any details.

  6. Click Done.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are participants notified when their commitment is waived?

No, there is no automated notification to fundraisers if their commitment is waived, as we assume you are already in conversation with the fundraiser that you will be waiving their commitment.

I waived a commitment by mistake. Can I reactivate it?

Yes. As soon as you waive a commitment, you will see an Undo button in the Commitment status field where their commitment is marked as Waived. Simply click Undo to reactivate their commitment.

How can fundraisers tell if their commitment has been waived?

Every participant with a fundraising commitment will be able to monitor their progress towards their commitment by clicking “View my commitment” when viewing their fundraising page while logged in. If their commitment has been waived, they will see a message showing it has been waived.
