Change ticket type

Adjust the ticket type associated with a participant’s registration

Updated over 2 months ago

Note: This feature only applies to In-Person Event or P2P In-Person Event campaign types.

Occasionally you may need to change a participant’s ticket type if a participant’s plans change or if they selected the wrong ticket. You can edit their ticket type when editing their profile.

Steps

  1. Visit your campaign’s Dashboard and go to the Recruit tab.

  2. In the Participants table, search for the participant whose ticket type needs to be updated.

  3. While viewing the Participants table, click on the three dot menu and select Edit participant. Alternatively, you can also click on their participant record and then select Edit in the top right corner above their name.

  4. In the pop-up that appears, select Ticket from the left menu. Use the dropdown menu to choose a new ticket type for the participant.

  5. Click Save.

Note: Ticket changes will not generate a charge or refund. Any payment adjustments need to be made separately in Stripe.

There are a few exceptions where ticket types cannot be changed:

  • You cannot change a participant’s ticket to a ticket type that is already sold out.

  • If a participant’s original ticket did not have a minimum fundraising commitment, you cannot change them to a ticket that has a minimum fundraising commitment, as minimum fundraising commitments require the individual to complete a waiver at registration.

Any custom questions that the participant completed as part of their original ticket will still apply, but if you have specific custom questions that apply to their new ticket, those fields will be blank in your Participants report unless you update the participant’s profile with their information. You can do this by visiting the Details menu when editing their profile.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does a participant receive a notification if their ticket type has changed?

No. Participants are not notified if their ticket type has changed, as we assume you are already communicating with them about the change in their registration.
