Mark sponsor as paid

Indicate payment has been received from an offline sponsor or change their payment method

When using the Sponsors feature, you are able to add sponsors that may be paying through offline methods, such as check payments. When initially adding a sponsor to your campaign, you can indicate if the payment is not yet received and flag the sponsor as Unpaid.

When their payment arrives, you can return to the sponsor's profile to record their payment type and issue a receipt, if needed. If a sponsor changes their mind about how to pay, you can also change their payment type to collect a card payment or send an invoice instead.

Mark As Paid

  1. Visit your campaign's Dashboard and select Sponsors on the left side menu.

  2. Select the sponsor from the table in your Sponsors dashboard.

  3. A summary of their sponsorship details will appear. Scroll down to the Payment Details section.

  4. Click Mark as Paid. A pop-up will appear confirming their status will update to Paid and giving you the option to send them a receipt. Choose your preference for sending the receipt and click Submit.

Change Payment Method

If a sponsor no longer wants to pay offline, you will have the option to take a credit card payment over the phone or send an invoice with a payment link for them to complete online.

  1. Visit your campaign's Dashboard and select Sponsors on the left side menu.

  2. Select the sponsor from the table in your Sponsors dashboard.

  3. A summary of their sponsorship details will appear. Scroll down to the Payment Details section.

  4. Click Change Payment Method. A pop-up will appear with two options to choose from: Credit Card or Invoice.

  5. If taking payment over the phone, enter their credit card details, check the box indicating if they should receive a receipt, and click Save. Upon clicking Save, their card will be charged.

  6. If sending an invoice, toggle to the Invoice tab. Click Save to send the invoice. Upon clicking Save, the contact email for the sponsor will receive an email with instructions on making their payment. You will have the ability to resend the invoice after creation, if needed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to send a receipt to a sponsor when recording their payment?

No. You will have the option to trigger the receipt to the sponsor. The only time that sponsors automatically receive a receipt is when they pay online with a credit card. Be aware that if the sponsor's package includes tickets to your event and you don't choose to send them a receipt, you will need to ensure they are given the invite code for their guest tickets if they won't be receiving the Sponsor Receipt from Pledge It.
