When a donor chooses to make a recurring gift, they are always in full control of their giving plan and can make changes at any time, including canceling their plan.
If a donor requests for assistance in canceling their giving plan, you can choose to resend their recurring gift management link so the donor can cancel the plan on their own or you can follow the steps below to cancel it for them.
Steps
Visit your Organization Dashboard and select Giving Plans.
Search for the donor’s name or email in the table provided.
Click on their name to pull up their full giving plan record and click the Cancel Plan button below their name.
In the pop-up that appears, confirm that you would like to cancel the giving plan and all future payments associated with it by clicking Cancel Giving Plan.

Does canceling a giving plan notify the donor?
Yes. The donor will receive a confirmation that their giving plan was canceled. The message they receive informs them that they will still be able to access their previous charge receipts or reactivate their giving plan at any time.
Can a giving plan be reactivated?
Yes, but only by the donor. Admins cannot reactivate a giving plan on a donor's behalf. You can resend the recurring gift management link to a donor who recurring giving plan has been canceled and they will be able to use the management link to reactivate their plan and make any desired changes.
