Note: The ability to use Check Out is specific to the In-Person Event campaign type.
When hosting an In-Person Event campaign, you will have access to Event Day features that help you:
Close out tabs to record payment and issue receipts
Event Day Check Out is where you will close out tabs, choose the supporter's preferred payment method, and issue receipts. It is most effective when used in combination with the above features.
Navigate Check Out
Visit your campaign's Dashboard.
Navigate to Event Day in the left side menu.
Select the Check Out tab. You will see a table with a list of all your registered participants. Columns will display their Event Number, Payment, Balance, and Status.
Use the search bar to find a participant. You can search by name, email, or event number (if assigned).
Use the three dot menu to view options to Manage Tab, Check Out, or Add Card. The Check Out option will be grayed out if there are no items added to a tab. The Add Card option will not appear if a card is already placed on file.
Tip: Click directly on a participant's profile to open a tab for them or manage their existing tab.
Note: The Check Out table only includes registered participants. It does not included unclaimed registrations for guests of sponsors or guests of ticket bundles. You can use the check in procedures to register those guests, which will ensure they appear at Check Out.
Manage Tabs
Throughout event night, your team can be logging donations or other purchases to participant tabs. If you are using paddles at your event to easily keep track of an individual's contributions, their paddle number should match their assigned Participant Event Number. This allows you to quickly pull up the correct participant and add the appropriate donations or items to their tab.
Tabs can be managed directly from the Event Day Check Out page or launched from different locations within your campaign's Dashboard via the +Create button and creating an order. Tabs can include donations, Shop products, raffle entries, or miscellaneous Items.

Check Out and Close Tab
At the close of your event, you can close out tabs and issue receipts to participants to document their donations and purchases throughout the evening.
Visit Event Day on the left side menu and navigate to the Check Out tab.
In the provided table, search for the participant whose tab you want to close. You can also sort the Status column to prioritize viewing Open tabs.
When you are ready to complete someone's order and check them out, click on the three dot menu and select Check Out.
You will be taken straight to the final checkout page in the point-of-sale terminal, where you can review their total and choose their preferred payment method: Card on File, Credit Card, or Cash/Check. The payment method will default to the credit card on file if one was placed on file.
Confirm the payment method and the name and email address of the participant.
Click Submit. Upon clicking Submit, their card will be charged and a receipt will be sent to the supporter. Should there be an issue you will be notified immediately.
Note: If a participant you are checking out requests to add more things to their tab before it is closed, you can select Manage Tab first to add additional purchases, then proceed straight to check out from their cart.
After closing a tab, you will return to the Event Day Check Out screen. The participant's tab has now become a completed order, and their Status on the Check Out table has been reverted back to No Tab with a $0 balance, allowing you to open a new tab for them if needed. To view a record of their purchase or reissue the receipt, visit Orders on the left side menu.
Monitoring Orders
Once a tab has been closed out, it is considered a completed order. When you visit the Orders section of your campaign's Dashboard, you will see a table that shows all orders within your campaign, with an option to filter by Status.
Completed means that payment has been collected.
Open means that the tab is active and the supporter has not been charged yet.
Failed means that the credit card on file for the supporter failed and attention is needed to collect payment via another method.
To quickly filter and view open orders, toggle the Hide Completed button. To close an open tab, use the three dot menu and select Manage Tab or view the order and select Manage Tab from the overview screen. From the point-of-sale terminal that opens, you will be able to complete the order.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do the donations and items added to a supporter's tab impact my campaign's fundraising goal?
Anything added to a participant's tab is logged as a contribution to your event and is reflected in your campaign total, even if payment has not been charged. If you are selling Shop items, for example, items held in open tabs count towards your Shop's inventory limits, ensuring you don't oversell. Raffle entries placed on someone's tab are active entries, eligible to be drawn.
If items are removed from someone's tab throughout the night, your campaign total will adjust accordingly.
What does the receipt that supporters receive look like?
Supporters receive your campaign's Order Receipt, which you can customize. This receipt is adaptive, meaning if someone has only purchased a Shop item or Raffle item, only the Shop section or Raffle section will display on the receipt. Other sections like the Registration section will not appear. Misc. Items will be represented on the receipt as well, with the name of the Misc. Item you provided when creating the order.
