You can duplicate any campaign in your dashboard at any time. This is most commonly used when repeating an annual event, but can be used to help you create a series of similar events from a template campaign you’ve created.
Duplicating a campaign will make a copy of your previous campaign, pulling over all the content, images, and settings that you had applied to your previous campaign – minus your participants and any donations, of course. While our duplication process will help update key information on your campaign, you should still carefully review it and update your content as needed.
Steps
You’ll find the Duplicate Campaign feature in three places and you can begin from any of these pages:
In the Dashboard of the campaign you are wanting to duplicate, select the three dot menu in the top right corner and select Duplicate Campaign.
In your Organization Dashboard, select Campaigns, then hover over the campaign you would like to duplicate, select the three dot menu that appears, and select Duplicate Campaign.
In your Organization Dashboard, select Campaigns, then select +Campaign in the top right corner. Choose the Duplicate a Previous Campaign option.
You’ll be walked through a series of steps to update your campaign, including changing the name, reusing or updating your URL, setting a new date, and adjusting your fundraising goal.
Next, you’ll be asked if you’d like to connect your campaign to its previous iteration. Should you choose to connect your campaign, you will be able to enable a set of features to help you:
Communicate with previous participants and easily invite them back
Allow returning fundraisers and team captains to easily rejoin or recreate their team pages
Track your campaign progress with year-over-year analytics
You will also be given the option to mark your previous campaign as Done. This will disable the Join and/or Donate buttons on your previous campaign and archive it from your Campaign Dashboard.
After completing the questions, you'll reach a Campaign Summary screen. Review your campaign details for accuracy then select Create and Go To Campaign. You’ll be taken to your new campaign’s Dashboard and prompted to visit the Settings menu to continue customizing your campaign.
Best Practices
If you’re running an annual campaign that you repeat each year, we recommend that you reuse the URL from your previous campaign and avoid including the year in the URL. (i.e. /TheBigChallenge instead of /TheBigChallenge2025). This makes it easier to maintain your campaign’s marketing materials and also helps folks find your most current campaign via search engines more efficiently.
Don’t forget to carefully review your campaign page content and update any automated emails that might contain information unique to your previous campaign. Before launching, we recommend giving everything a once-over and doing a test registration.
We highly recommend choosing to connect your previous campaign when prompted, as it unlocks a whole new set of features for you to successfully grow your fundraising efforts.
