Take the first steps to onboard your organization

Updated over a week ago

Welcome to Pledge It! πŸ‘‹ We're excited to have you join us. The following steps will walk you through setting up your account, so you can invite your team members and start creating your next fundraising campaign.

Step 1: Accept your admin invitation

  • You will receive an admin invitation to access your Organization Dashboard. Follow the link to accept your invite.

  • If you've never used Pledge It before, you will create a user profile with your name, email, and password of your choice.

Step 2: Visit your Organization Dashboard

  • After logging in, you may land on your user profile's Account page, where you can see any affiliated organizations you're associated with. Find your organization's name and click on it.

  • Your Organization Dashboard will outline suggested next steps to get started. These items will display a checkmark as soon as they are complete and disappear once you've finished all required steps.

The "Create Your First Campaign" option will be locked until you activate your membership.

Step 3: Activate your membership

  • Click on the Membership icon in the top right corner, which will list "Inactive" or "Active" depending on the status of your membership.

  • You will be prompted to choose your plan:

    • Billed Monthly: $150/month

    • Billed Annually: Receive a discounted rate of $100/month and save 33% on your membership

  • You will be taken to a checkout form where you can complete your payment. Enter an email address for your billing contact, payment method, card details, and click Subscribe.

You can click the Membership icon in your Organization Dashboard at anytime to:

  • View your subscription renewal date

  • Update your subscription

  • Cancel your subscription

  • Change your payment method

  • Update your billing information

  • View your invoice history where you can download receipt of payment

You can complete the remaining steps in any order (including creating your first campaign!) but note that you will need to connect your payment processor before you can begin collecting any funds.

Step 4: Connect Your Stripe Account

This step requires either logging into your existing Stripe account or creating a new Stripe account if your organization does not yet have one. It will need to be completed by a staff member at your organization with permission to do the above.

  • Click on the Connect Your Payment Processor step in your Organization Dashboard.

  • You'll be taken to your organization's payment processor settings, where you can connect your Stripe account, set your organization's Stripe fee, and edit the credit card statement descriptor that will display on bank statements.

  • Click on the green Connect to Stripe button. You will be taken to Stripe's website and prompted to enter an email address. Enter the email address affiliated with your organization's Stripe account to connect an existing Stripe account. If you do not have a Stripe account, enter the email address you would like to use to set up your Stripe account. Click Submit.

  • After entering the email address affiliated with your Stripe account, it will confirm the account you would like to connect to Pledge It. Select your account (or choose to create a new account) and click Connect.

  • After successfully connecting Stripe, you will land back on the Payment Processor settings page in your Organization Dashboard, which will display a message saying "Your account is connected to Stripe."

  • Review the additional settings on this page, such as your organization's Stripe fee and credit card statement descriptor to ensure they are correct.

Did you know? Stripe offers a fee discount for nonprofit organizations. Be sure to request the nonprofit rate from Stripe to save money on credit card transaction fees.

Step 5: Invite Your Team

You can manage who has access to your organization's Pledge It account. There are two access levels available. Organization-level admins have full access to all campaigns, programs, and organization settings. Campaign-level admins only have access to the campaign dashboard of a campaign they've been invited to.

  • Select Invite Your Team from your Organization Dashboard. You'll be taken to the Admins page, where you will see all the organization-level admins affiliated with your organization's account.

  • Click the +Invite button in the top right corner and enter the email address of the staff member you'd like to invite to your organization's Pledge It account. This will trigger an invite email to their inbox.

To remove admins, click on the trash can icon on the right of their profile. Note that you cannot remove yourself from the organization. To grant campaign-level access, visit the Admins setting of that particular campaign. Learn more about inviting team members.

Step 6: Create Your First Campaign

  • From your Organization Dashboard, click on Create Your First Campaign. You'll be taken to your Campaign Dashboard, which will be empty. Click the +Campaign button in the top right corner to begin creating your first campaign!

  • For a deeper dive into creating campaigns, head to Campaign Setup to learn about different campaign styles, basic campaign settings, and campaign page design.

  • Duplicate Campaign will not be available until you have an existing campaign.

  • I Want to Fundraise on My Website will allow you to create custom donation forms (with or without recurring giving) that can be embedded on your organization's website.

  • Create a New Campaign will ask you a series of questions to determine the campaign style your fundraising event or initiative needs before sending you to your new campaign's dashboard!

Step 7: Connect with Customer Success

You will have been introduced over email to one of Pledge It's Customer Success team members, who can provide strategic support and guidance tailored to your nonprofit's goals. They'll be your point person for any questions you have, from technical support, to fundraising strategy, to feature requests.

Our Customer Success team has years of experience working for nonprofits, managing events, and helping teams big and small amplify their fundraising efforts. They'll also keep you in the loop about new Pledge It updates and ways to help your organization reach your goals.

Feel free to explore the self-help tools provided in our Pledge It Support Center, but remember that your Customer Success representative just a quick phone call or email away. πŸ‘‹
