Pledge It uses Stripe as our payment processor and every organization is required to connect their Stripe account in order to process funds online.
Connecting Stripe is one of the first things your organization might do when setting up your Stripe account, but you can return here to change settings as needed. If your organization has recently applied and been approved for Stripe's fee discount for nonprofit organizations, this is where you'll change the fee setting we calculate on your campaigns to match your new rate.
Steps
From your Organization Dashboard, select Org Settings, then Payment processor.
Under the Setup tab, you can change your Stripe fee setting or credit card statement descriptor.
Under the Metadata tab, you can add metadata fields that will be appended to Stripe transactions and available in reports via your Stripe Dashboard.
Frequently Asked Questions
What happens when I change my Stripe fee?
Changing your Stripe fee setting in Pledge It does not change your actual Stripe fee. It will change the percentage of fees that we calculate at checkout when donors cover fees on your campaign. A donor interested in covering fees will donate an additional amount to ensure you receive their full intended gift after transaction fees apply. The amount of fees presented are influenced by the Stripe rate you indicate in your settings.
What does adding metadata fields do?
Metadata is useful for storing additional, structured information on Stripe transactions that occur as part of your campaign. You can add metadata fields and apply them to particular campaigns as needed. Metadata fields you add will be appended to Stripe transactions and available in reports via your Stripe Dashboard.
